So here on the exciting island of Galveston they have a ferry that runs between Galveston and Port Bolivar.
Yesterday for Labor day we joined a few other families in our ward/Travis's medical school class for free ride!
Lawson loved being up where he could see everything.
One of his favorite things to do lately is point at things he notices.
Needless to say, he was constantly pointing at all the birds, people, the water, etc.
It was such a perfect day for doing this!
The heat has finally seemed to have broken here so we can actually go outside without sweating to death.
(Meaning now it's only 92 instead of the usual 100+ weather...)
Gotta love living close to the gulf!
The other families we went with: the Hedmans and the Molines.
Lawson was definitely dressed for the occasion with his little Skipper outfit.
Love that kid!
Lawson wasn't happy that we weren't facing him forward so he could keep looking out.
The things moms do for family pictures...
Here's a view of UTMB's campus from the ferry.
So while on our ferry journey we were actually able to spot several dolphins swimming!
I was really surprised at how many we saw.
They were all over the place.
And of course, Lawson loved seeing them and pointing at them.
It made me pretty happy too.
So not too bad of a Labor Day activity since it was free and only took about an hour.
The perfect activity for an almost one year old!
Afterwards we had a nice little BBQ complete with some tasty burgers and watermelon.
Labor Day doesn't get much better than that!
