So the night before we moved from Colorado we decided to have a little {early}birthday party for Lawson.
He turns the big number 1 on September 7th but since we don't have any family here in Texas to help celebrate we wanted to make sure to have a celebration with our CO family before we left!
His Grandma Lori made this amazing cake for him:
Yes, I definitely have a lot to live up to now when it comes to birthday cakes...

Definitely loved all the attention he was getting!
He was definitely not a fan of the cake at the beginning...
But he eventually started to warm up to it...
And finally decided to dive in!
(Haha like how he's strapped to the chair with a scarf? His high chair was already packed and
locked away in the moving truck so this had to do...)
One last hurrah with Grandma and Aunt Rissa...
As well as Grandad and Aunt Emma and Maya!
We sure do miss y'all!
And finally, another 4 generation picutre.
Lori's mom was in CO visiting from Oregon while we left.
It was great that she was able to meet Lawson and get to know him a little bit before we took off!
We love you Grandma-Great!
So yeah, it was a great little party and the perfect way to say goodbye to everybody in CO.
The REAL party will be one week from tomorrow!

don't worry....you have 27 more years to go on making birthday cakes before anyone can compare yours to mine! By then you will probably be making them so much better than mine anyway, so it won't matter!
